SOFTLIGHT Controller

This whole project started with an Instagram challenge where the participants were asked to design and sketch a controller.

I started out by sketching a few controllers and decided to settle on this design and, later on, make a 3D model out of it.

The design is loosely based on the 360 controller (my all-time favourite controller). I've made some changes and added some features I always wanted in my own controller such as replaceable trigger, D-pad and analogue stick covers, the ability to change the colour of the lights through an RGB controller, the possibility of changing and customising the top cover and I also played with the surface finish of the different components.

I also decided to go with several colour schemes in the renders, however, were this an actual product, the user could chose their own colours at purchase through a customisation screen.
